there is a guy that works in the prop dept of the show i play in that told me he has a 1967 Jazz bass that he may want to sell- neither he nor i really know what it is worth. I may be interested because i think i would dig owning a nice 4 string J - i looked at some pics of some on the web and they have blocks which is cool by me!
if it is in good shape ( he says it's all stock ), what should i offer him? he has to ship it in, his dad has it.
    thanks!

i believe 67 is when CBS started changing thinbs up, so be wary of that.

gigging is a good thing! been very blessed here as well.
still dealing with some health issues, but i'm not sweating it too much, bro. God has been wonderful to me and every day is a gift.
I guess i can;t hang with the vintage market, i can think of lot of other ways to spend 2.5 k - i'll see what the guy says.
my friend bought the Tokyo, but he is selling it ..
i've been playing my warmoth 5 , believe it or not- giving the F bass a break, i take it on jazz gigs and such.

LOL. No. I traded my UV70's Geddy Lee look alike to Nino for his black 24 fret. Under 8 lbs! Looks like a modern but sounds like a jazz bass. Too cool

Is that sort of "relic-ing" really necessary if the bass is already vintage?

Rudy's on 48th has a 67 with a sticker of $6700, IIRC, has all of the covers and stuff.

Good to see you post and its wonderful to hear things are going so well!

Rob pretty close on the price. It all depends on how original and all the goodies that come with it. If you want to sell it 3500-4500. If you want to price it like GC and sit on it, then post it in the 5500 + range. There are a tone of variables when it comes to its actual value, but that gives you a place to start. Buying it for yourself and/or maybe sell in the future, well you can figure that and its value to you...

    It depends where you live?
    I'd say $3500.00-$4000.00.
Eight years ago I sold two 66-Jazz basses.
One Candy Apple Red- Bound Dot neck.
The other bass a White un-bound dot neck.
    $2000.00 each.
Can you say, I wish I still had them?
