what's a good beginner cab?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Baco, Aug 7, 2001.

  1. I was wondering if you guys could help me out? I'm in a metal band and i'm looking for new amps, and i'm not too sure what's better to have. I'm currently looking at a peavy 4x10 cab or a peavy 1x15 cab. Which one would give me a better and louder sound?

Im not completely sure but I think a 4x10 will give you a tighter, punchier sound than the 1x15.
Check the rated watts on the cab to see how much it can handle, other than that it depends on the head you plan to use with it, also check what ohm the cab is rated at.

The 4x10 will likely be louder with stronger mids, while the 1x15 would have more of an emphasis on the bottom end.
