What's a good resource for converting small fractions (32nds/64ths) to metric?

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by whacker, May 14, 2006.

  1. I figure there must be something straightforward either here on TB or somewhere. I'm not all that interested in becoming a convert to metric-speak, but I'd like to have the capability. I'm planning on buying a small metric rule soon to be a companion to my 6" for setting action, string spacing, etc. Thanks for any help.

Use a calculator. (Maybe even the one on your computer.) In your example: 23/64. Divide 23 by 64 and multiply the result by 25.4.

just a few strokes on the calculator
    say for example 5/32"
    enter 5
    divide by 32
    multiply by 25.4
    = result in milimetres 3.96875mm
