whats db and gb?

    sorry, im pretty new here, if this is a stupid question go easy on me. but ive asked some stupid questions in the db section, not knowing what it was and i got ripped apart. So i dont make a fool out of myself again whats db and gb?

    RHCP:

    DB= double bass. Same as upright bass.

    BG= bass guitar.

    No question is dumb if you are honestly looking for info.

    This explains much. The old bloodhounds have a bit of a cold, do they?

    It is as PKR says, as is often the case.

    GB = General Business

    That's what Boston area guys call gigs like weddings, bar mitzvahs, corporate functions.

    I understand in some other parts of the US they call 'em "casuals"....what's so casual about wearing a tux? :confused:

    Also don't confuse DB (double bass) with dB (decibel, unit for measuring sound levels)

    As in : "The local laws mean you can't go above 90 db's in this hall!"
