What's happening in NY at last week of september?

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by drews.anderson, Aug 9, 2012.

  1. I'm going to New York in the last week of September. I'm having a hard time booking accommodations for me and my wife. The hotels/B&B that aren't completely booked, are charging double the price, comparing to august. shouldn't September be out of season? Can anyone recommend me a place to stay in NY? Thanks!

NY is a pretty big state. Where are you visiting?

Assuming you're talking about NYC, it's pretty big too...
  3. Sorry, I mean Manhattan, New York City...

What are you planning on doing? Are you going to be using public transportation, or walking everywhere?

I ask because...Manhattan is big too :). If you're staying in Harlem and you plan on walking to Battery Park, it's going to take all day.

I don't think there is technically any in/out season for Manhattan. People come here year round to see all kinds of things. You can save money by staying in the other boroughs, or in NJ. Hotels are pricey in Manhattan, I'd be figuring roughly $300 /night at this point to stay in a decent area. Give or take $100.
  5. Walking/public transportation is ok.
