What's the best non-musical accessory you've ever bought? Not a bass or amp or effect or strings. Tuner or cable, maybe. Tools, straps, accessories, stands, all welcome. No bashing.

Some of mine that come to mind:
    Dolly (aka hand truck): link
    Fan (aka air circulator): link
    Gig bag: link
    Stand: link

I'd like to know yours, so I can go out and spend some more money on stuff. I need some non-musical GAS.

Ever...? This is a tough one.

Probably my Comfort Strapp's and the Neotech straps. I'm not sure I could have continued without these

    Wait a second...
Except for the fan/dolly, which are multi use items, everything you listed is music related.
    You want non-music? Socks. That's right, socks. can't tune'em, pluck'em, slap'em or plug'em in.:D

And let's not forget a good crowbar...
It's where all the young ravens go for happy hour.:roflmao:

    Carry on...

Grolsch beer. For the strap lock washers...well, that's just a bonus for me. I love me some grolsch. Unfortunately, I can only buy it at one place around here, and it's never on the way.

Mini display port to HDMI 10ft cable. It allows me to put my computer screen on the big screen for practice. I sometime put lyrics up there. I sometimes control my Amazing Slow Downer app up there. But I can stand behind my mic and see everything I'm doing on my computer.

  11. Probably the best thing was an advent calendar from a couple of years ago. Instead of chocolates, each day you'd get a new screw driver piece, to eventually make up a full set of Mikro Kraftform & Kraftform tool set from Wera. Fits in a gig bag very easily, only handy thing it's missing is a pair of pliers but I'm not complaining. My basses all have a mixture of screw sizes so this is such a great kit. The case has velcro so I can stick it to the rat fur on top of my amp during a gig incase of a quick adjustment.

Similar to this, but has 2 driver sizes - Kraftform Kompakt 60, 62 - Wera Product finder

Was such a cool gift idea! It's no surprise my dad is a handyman. :woot:

  19. Compression socks for long gigs standing & jumping around all night. (Actually they’re my snowboarding socks). Less tired on the gig, less sore the next day.

MarkBass Bass Keeper. It’s a guitar Stand replacement - Velcro your bass’ neck to you cabs’ side handle. Small, light, plus keeps cables bundled in my gig case.

    Hearos earplugs.
    Comfort Strapp.
    Hand cart.
Mono M80 Dual bass gig bag
    Floor fan. Industrial strength.
    Amazing Slow Downer app iPhone
    Velcro cable ties.

Black Suitcase (got it for free, does that count?). Carry on sized with wheels & telescoping handle. Fits micro amp, backup amp, pedalboard, cables, mic, tools, spares, etc. Fits on top of my 212 cab perfectly too.
