What the heck was or is an Aria Pro or Aria Pro II? I've seen pics of a couple good looking basses and someone with their logo for an avatar. I have a USACG neck with Aria Pro II tuners on it. Are they any good?
i just bought an aria pro2 rsb standard bass at pawn shop for 80 bucks and it sounds like my other basses tht i paid 10 times more
Early Aria's (along with Vantage, and several other brands) were made at the Matsumoku factory in Japan and tend to be very well made basses with above average components. They are still one of the great buy's in electric guitars and basses. Check out this site for pics and info about Matsumoku era Aria's. The forum has lots of good info if you're willing to dig around. http://www.matsumoku.org/guitars.html The later Aria's from Korea are reportedly good instruments also, but I don't know much about them. I've had an Aria Pro II CSB, and a Vantage VB series from the Matsumoku factory. Both were single pickup passive "entry level" models and both were much better instruments than the beginner models made by the big brands of today. Also, do a search here at TB. There's an Aria club megathread that has lots of good info
AriaPro`s were great basses in 80˙s - as Eilif said - produced in Matsumoku factory that was probably the best guitar OEM manufacturer in Japan (Fender, Gibson, most notably Epiphone, AriaPro II, Westone, etc.). More info Matsumoku - Wikipedia I have just bought one AriaProII SB-1000 (1983) and have this 1981˙s beauty for sale, TSB-400, in pristine condition. Price negotiable. Great sound.
