I didn't either! I normally cruise pages on my phone (smaller screen - less detail). After blowing up the pictures, it looks like the finger board came loose below the nut, and someone gobbed silicone on it! That doesn't look like a $500 instrument to me. I don't think I would have paid $500 for it before, but now? I don't think it's worth much more than the scrap value of the hardware.

  2. As you can tell from my icon I have one. It is an RBX 400. It is a simple affair with a volume and single tone control. The preamp is not super-duper, but is okay. It has a gorgeous red stained body and bathroom vanity pick guard I have grown to like. I wanted one of these badly when they hit around 05 but my daughter came along and was a preemie, and you can guess the rest. They went out of production. I happily snagged this one in January. :bassist:

Those RBX 400s are cool. It’s on my want list!

One guy here on TB put a 4-band eq in his 400 and really enjoyed it.

833FC78F-0773-4763-B697-3B3114B36B38.jpeg I’ve decided to go with this Audere pre for my SRX2EX2. I’ve heard nothing but praise for these preamps and I’m sure I’ll be stoked!

I was about to buy a SR300E yesterday, then when I got home I sat down & played my SRX2, grinned & thought, "This is better than the SR300E.".

And the SRX neck isn't made of wet spaghetti noodles!

Not sure how rigid SR300E neck would be, but they are 5 pieces.
My SRX neck is only 1 piece.

    Ha, turns out you're right.
    I compared:

    comparing neck stiffness (Ibanez content)

In Summary, the SRX neck is stiffer than my Ibanez Premium's, even though it's only one piece & the Premium has titanium rods in it. (it is however made of Wenge & Bubinga)

Cool! I do believe the SRA line has the thicker SRX-type neck also if you ever see one out in the wild.

I just measured them & both are 20mm thick at the 1st fret.
I'm not sure how that 1-pc SRX neck is so stiff, but it is far better than the 5-pc SR300EB neck.

What about at the 12th fret? Very curious that they're the same at #1...

They are only 1 mm thicker at the 12th fret & still both the same.
    My BTB300 had a neck like a p-bass.

  15. Yes, I put an Audere Classic 2 band in and it made the bass sound much more refined.
