whats the difference between a phaser and a chorus pedal?

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by djshawn47, May 21, 2005.

  1. I am trying to replicate the whoosh sound that Cliff Burton had on "Anesthesia" and i cant get it with my chorus pedal. Will i have better luck with a phaser?

  2. You can't set a chorus to "stun".

  3. Try a wah pedal.

AFAIK , a phaser is a filter type, and a Chorus is modulation type

Not exactly... A phaser modulates by a filter, so its still a modulation effect. And is caused by running the same signal "out of phase".

Chorus is created by ever so sligtly delaying and detuning your signal and running it paralel to your dry signal...

  7. Yeh, anesthesia is done with lotsa fuzz and Wah dude, I dont think your likely to get it sounding nearly right with a phaser, if I where you I'd look at Morely Fuzz/Wah or Electro Harmonix Big Muff to get that Kind of sound there dude.
