Whats the difference between GK's 1001rb vs 2001rb

    I know that the 2001rb has more power than the 1001rb, but tone wise is there any difference, or do they sound exactly the same. Im buying the Mesa 4x10 powerhouse cab and im on the fence about which of these two heads to buy, ive heard absolutley amazing things about the 2001rb, never heard a bad thing about it, and also the 1001rb. If the 1001rb sounds the exact same as the 2001rb just with less power than ill buy that cause i dont need that much power from the 2001. So if anyone has experience or knowledge about these two heads id like to know the differences between them if any...tone wise. thanks

    I have a 2001 which replaced a 1001RB-II. I think the 2001 is more versatile and produces a warmer tone than the 1001. I never really warmed up to the 1001. Good head, don't get me wrong, but it had too sterile of a tone for my tastes. The 2001has the distortion channel which the 1001 does not, the 2001 has 2 x 500 watt amps that you can bridge or run separatley. I run 4 cabs out of my 2001. You can't do that with a 1001.

    I actually preferred my old 700RB over the 1001. Crunchier, warmer tone and still a lot of power.
