OK boys and girls what's the most you've spent on a Bass? Tell the truth cause it won't impress anyone if you spent to much.

My top price for a bass has been about $1050.
I'm sure some of you have spent a lot more, and some a little less.

Both my current basses cost the same, but were bought 25 years apart.

$600 for my SR-506 (another $100 for the case)
$600 for my Stingray incl case (purchased new in 1980)

But I'm about to spend more than 4 times that on a new 6er within the next month or so. lol... :ninja:

My Streamer Stage II - 5 was $2350 with the Warwick gig bag and hardshell case, and that's a deal brand new. My first bass was a Fender Jazz knockoff that must have weighed 20 lbs, it was $80........

Fodera Emperor Elite 5 string with AAAAA Flame maple top and 5 piece neck... ebony pickup covers and ebony board.... in 1999 it was $4900 discounted (now about $6K discounted!!!!). That was a lot of bread in 1999! The good news is, I played the heck out of it for 5 years and sold it for $4,800. So, I figure it cost me $20 a year rent:D

Most I've Paid: It's a toss up between the Read Custom Model P and MM Sterling I had which both were about $1300 shipped.

Least I've Paid: Does the first bass you've owned count? If so, that was an Ibanez GSR200 + gig bag for about $220. Other than that it was my MIM Jazz + gig bag for $300 that I have now.

Both my MTD's were way over $100... ;)
  20. The most I've spent all-told was for my homebuild TBird non-reverse. 750 bucks in parts and work subbed out

I paid 700 bucks once for a Bass Collection 4 string. Nice bass, but way overpriced. Bad impulse buy.

Next in line was 550 ish for an Italia Maranello

Next was my Ibeenhad ATK300 for 480 bucks.

Next was my late G&L2000e for 425 bucks.

Then my G&L1000 natural for 350 bucks

    G&L 1000 trans red for 300

Then my Ibeenhad ATK100 for 299

    G&L El Toro for 125

Fender MIM Jazz for 55 (practically brand new)

    Antares P - 10 bucks

My P special was a gift, as is my 8 string Frankenbass. The rest were "indefinite borrows".
