Anyone ever used one of these, does it have good distortion sounds?

Lots of discussions here if you search a bit ... seems like it's maybe a bit noisy, and the effects are decent except for the distortions which are one of its weaker points.

I'd look for a newer multieffect, if a Zoom then a B1on, B1Xon, MS-60B or B3. Many keep their multieffects for delays, modulation effects etc, but add separate pedals for distortion - the dirt effects are just often not that great in multis.

I had a B1 for a while. Effects were iffy, but the SansAmp sim was really good, as were a few of the others. But these days, you can get the smaller, better-quality and more efficient Zoom MS60B for 80 $ used.

If you're mainly interested in distortion sounds you may want to skip a multi. That's usually their weakest point.

  6. Lots of good sounds but the distortions leave a lot to be desired. The amp models are good and do lead to some warmth but pushed hard they do get noisey. The b2 does play well with other efx.
