Man, all the companies are really getting into this trend - making "affordable" versions of their high-end instruments. Peavey is up this time (this probably is yesterday´s news, but hey, I live in Sweden;) ).

    Anyways, check this out.

Does anyone know anything about these basses? And who ever heard of using pine in bass guitars?

i considered resin injected balsa for my project bass.

    but,

as far as pine is concerened, i consider it a softish wood that would be better finished with a hard gloss than an oil finish.

tonally, who knows, its probably ok...depends on how much these basses cost.

only problem for me is that they look SO much like a CIRRUS that they may detract from the CIRRUS resale value.

i think PEAVEY marketing screwed up on this one.

and i really like the CIRRUS line.
