The other night a stratocustic and the tele version on MF were 179.00, they are now back to being 299.00, what is up with MF prices varying?

They may be adjusting prices for the Christmas season or something. If the lower price was recent, you may still be able to get it by calling them and saying that you were just waiting a day or two for the credit to clear up on your card, then you went back to the site and the price was changed. Never hurts to ask.

MF always used to be real competetive with their prices, but I was comparing the Maxon Auto Filter & they are like $30 more that Music123.

I personally think that American Musical is the best out of MF, Zzounds, Music123, and Sam Ash.

MF will price match to other internet stores, even after the sale.

Also remember, you're paying for their 45 satisfaction guaranteed period and the 'free' shipping.

I bought a Rogue "Beatle" bass about a month ago from MF (great bass, btw), and at that time they were giving away a 20" cable with the purchase (very high-quality cable, at least $30 street price). The next day I checked and they had deleted that offer.

It seems that a manager has been doing some price adjustments.

The best thing about MF is when they have a clearance sale on instruments that have been discontinued and are about to be replaced with new models. They seem to sell them almost at cost. . .

take the swr 2x10c combo. one day is was an amazing $599 and 2 days later it was $899. I called them up and all I got was "you should have bought it while the price was down". It was on clearance the whole time.

If we're just talking prices, that same Maxon pedal is $40 more at American Musical.

I'm not bashing MF at all, because I've bought a ton of gear from them. I guess it just pays to do your research & shop around.

They're usually on the up and up, sometimes around times like this, some manufacturers may raise their prices, passed down to the consumer through the distributors i.e. MF.
