BINGO! I took the B800 out of it's case and built some sheetmetal parts so I could rack it. Seems like I've seen guys mentioning that they would prefer a rack mount version. Now I'm trying to decide whether I want to get a 3 space rack for it or maybe get a lighted power strip unit for the top space. I kind of like having some room in the rack so I can put cables, footswitch tuner etc in there. Whattaya think? Powerstrip or 3 space case?
This pic shows it a bit better. Still hard to see because it's black and shiny. You can see a little unpainted metalwork to the left of the power switch and you can see the reflection of the right rack ear on the face of the amp. The top cover is wavy because of the Carvin screw inserts. When I put the top on flat I could see that it was going to vibrate so I bent it a bit so it's all nice and tight.
My girlfriend went "garagin" and got that last week. Surprising how much interest you guys have in a five dollar table. Want more pics of that?? Talkfurniture... lol.
No, you just asked "what's wrong with this picture". You're the one who brought furniture into the...um...picture.
If you add more pics of the table you have to use a "Protect your eyes!" label on this thread! Also if you are going to keep that table you really need to put a plant on top. You're the one who asked what was wrong with the pic. Rack mounting a bass amp is not wrong! Dan K.
I hope you used a decent gauge of steel for the ears. They have to support the entire weight of the amplifier. Aside from that caveat good job. Paul
