Total up the numbers and pick your category. Some of you may be in the 6 figures.

I guess we'll go with everything you own. You can break it down if you want.:p
  2. So far:

    FX/Amps/Cabs - 3500 CAD (2200 US)
    Basses (4) - 5600 CAD (3500 US)
    Guitars (2) - 1500 CAD (950 US)

 I better get these insured!

If I include all of my basses and amps, I'm a tad over $10K.

Speaking of arsenals... I was at my local guitar shop (Apple Music in Portland, OR), and I got to talking to the owner for a while.. really nice guy.. and he tells me he owns about 2000 guitars and basses worth about 6-7 million dollars in total. He said he has the largest collection in the U.S. Not a bad chunk of change.

And that is just his personal collection, not the stuff he has inventoried at his shop.

I'd give a number, but my wife occasionally checks this forum.
  8. I think my stuff tallies up to around $6000. I would be rich if I didnt play bass!

  9. I don't think I want to think about it.

Are we talking about new retail value, new average selling price, used selling price, or how much money we have in it?

that's the real determination of value, because it's what you were willing to pay.

Right now.. i am guessing between $7-$8 thousand.. thats all from my pocket... my parents love me.. or so they say ;). but they won't help me with my bass gear.. and thats ok with me, they pay for college.. but even thats a small amount with scholarships..
  13. Lol. Are we looking for what we paid or what it's all worth? :D I've gotten some smoking deals on a few items. I'll just shoot it down the middle then.

Basses : $3K (Jeeeeez, why'd you ask this)
    Amps : $3K (OUCH)
Effects : $400 (Still to much lol)
Cables, Cases, Various other stuff : $200-$300 (roughly)

Ugh...too much...way too much for my sucktatude lol.
  14. 26 basses and a BUNCH of amps and cabs....over 20K.....coulda had a Porsche...But, my babies love me and I love them. :)
  15. :( My wife got rid of me (after 25 yrs), but...
:D now I have lots of gear! And it will always love me.......!!

Be more precise, please BB - is that US or Canadian?

3 Basses: $5000 (this is what I paid, not what they are actually worth on the street.. endorsements are cool)

Amps: $3800 (street price, no amp edorsements)

No effects thank you, I'm driving.

So I guess I'm at $8800 that I've spent, however it would be well over $10,000 if I paid street price for my basses. Retail price is probably something like $15,000... because retail price is ridiculous and no one pays that. :D

I'm sorry to have added it up now, but it comes out to a bit over $9k that I've got invested bass gear, not counting the Curbow I have on order. OTOH, I've been playing for 23 years, so if I spread it out across that time, it only comes to about $400 a year! :D

    2 basses: $170 and $350
    2 amps: $60 and $225
    1 effect: $35
    3 cables: $10 each
    1 set of strings: $15

being a crappy bass player but loving every minute of it: priceless

There are some things that money can't buy. For everything else, I use my mom's mastercard.
