  3. err i forgot other on the poll damn lol

  4. I played in a band in New Orleans that dropped everything to C. (C F B E) and I hated it...(I was using a 4 string and the setup left my strings way slack) You couldnt really decipher subtle note changes in the lower register at all.
Now Im back to normal E tuning. (Thank God!)

Tune up a quarter step. It's CFBbEb (EADG down two full steps). If you've a 4 banger, get a light gauge 5 string set, with a .120ish B string, then tune to C.

Much better than detuning. Better dynamics, clearer notes and easier to control. It's what I do, anyway.

  16. in my band, we tune down half a step (cfr Iced Earth). I use my stingray in our band, so that's one tuned half a step down (not right now, 'cause for the moment we stopped rehearsing, and I just putted new strings on it), I just bought a Warwick, I'm thinking of using this bass as a back-up, so I'll have to detune it too.
And I leave my Ibanez EDC700 in normal tuning, EADG

My main bass is EADG. I do have a second bass with all the strings tuned a half step down to Eb Ab Db and Gb. Helps with tune in the key of Eb.
