    Hey all,

I saw @StrangerDanger 's post about an amazing $59 Peavey bass score, and it really got me ta thinkin': What's the biggest score/best deal for yer dollar that you've ever gotten on a bass-related piece of gear?

A beat up '82 G&L L-1000 for about $180. By the time I paid for fretwork and the materials to refinish it and replace pots and the jack it was about $350.

My Spector Rebop. Cleaning, setup, strings, and battery and it was ready to gig. It was either $70 or $90 (5 years ago, and old-person memory)

IMG_2552.JPG I got this beauty in a trade, but it definitely went my way. This is a 1995 Ibanez ATK305. I traded a $100-or-so value used SX six string jazz bass and a $20 drive pedal for it.

1961 Fender Jazz for $600, deal of a lifetime I'll probably never encounter again.

Early 80's G&L L2000 for my ruined Precision and $100. The guy who ruined the precision gave me that deal. Also my first "BIG" rig: Traynor YBA3 Custom Special head and Fender 2x15 cab for $300 from a local music store. The salesman was toasted...

4ECDAE62-3752-4735-959F-1A6C8E6F8BAA. Best overall winner-‘59 Precision. $450 in 1978. Included original case. Relic job by yours truly through the years. It was a beauty when I bought it.
819F301B-00C4-4048-AE20-0362737A75DA. Best recent score- Ampeg 810-$250. I can live with the “road-weary” Tolex, it sounds great.

(GK 400RB- first runner-up for long term reliability and revenue generator. Bought new in ‘92!)

I’ve been really fortunate to stumble onto some amazing deals on local marketplace apps & sights recently... but this was the best:
A brand new - not a scratch, mint condition & still had factory strings on it - Fender MP Jaguar for $40!!!

I don’t know why she was selling so cheap, I didn’t ask. It wasn’t an anonymous listing, so I’m confident it wasn’t hot.
Unfortunately I couldn’t bond w/ the bass, so sold it for many times what I paid... and put that towards another bass! Ha!

Not including two completely freakin' awesome basses that I got for free -- one as a college graduation present from my best friend/roommate, who had just gotten his first full-time job and clearly couldn't think of anything better to spend his money on, and the other as a 7th wedding anniversary present from my lovely wife (...and yes, I still own both of those basses and will never part with them) -- I guess my biggest score is either the Korg G5 Bass Synth Processor or the Alembic SF-2 SuperFilter, both of which I got for $99 each from the clueless yahoos at Guitar Center.
