ccus_gd_25-1. One of my favorites is the Marleaux Consat 5-string Bass, all that beautiful exotic woods and high quality gold hardware and the way that body looks, also the way Marleaux Basses sound.

Sounds like you should look into the "unicorn" thread.
...which I can't seem to find, now.

Edit. The White Whale thread. Not a unicorn.
    What's your "White Whale" bass?

My favorite bass is the 1974 Ripper you see above. I want to own it (and do) precisely because it is my favorite bass. :)
  4. My first real quality bass was a Ripper which I picked up new in 1974. Didn't know what I was going to get and tried a few different things, including some Ricks, which I hated and ended up getting the Ripper. Funny thing is these day the Ric is my favorite! Love the sound, feel and look! Wish I still had the Ripper however. I was a foolish teen to sell it.

Funny. I kept my Ripper (which I never regretted) but I always sorta regretted not getting a Ric too. A '66 era 4005 hollowbody (in Fireglo) is still on my bucket list. Maybe someday.

  10. Beautiful indeed. Has a bit of a Rickenbacker vibe going on. My guess is somewhere north of $3K?

Exactly, somewhere around $3,000 to $4,000 some dollars, you tell them just how you want your Bass then you wait for them to build it and send it right to you brand spankin new looking and smelling beautiful.:):bassist::bassist:

Probably not in that colour, though I haen't decided :).
Because it looks sexay and ultra modern, with the sort of styling that I like, (what I call BMW Curves - flowing curves punctuated by sharp edges) similar to my 504 which also has "BMW curves", and because it sounds super duper beasty! :D

Disclaimer: It would be more accurate to say that after I've bought one, the Dingwall will likely become my favourite bass.
At the moment my favourite bass is the one that has shepherded me from "Which string is E?" to "oo, I just broke the 60 song (songs that I can play well) limit in less than 8 months" :)

    My lovely 504 :)

That's my kinda bass. It's just that, bein' worth $. 6,000.00 alone...

    I own 3 (three!) of these for gig/studio purposes ($. 1,000.00 each)

while my all time achieved "white whale bass" is
to the point to have 2 of'em [the other is black] ($. 1,500.00 each)

Total makes exactly $. 6,000.00 budget!

I think this color blue Bongo would be awesome, but make it a 5-string. Dave+LaRue+Joe+Satriani+Steve+Morse+Concert+Jln5VHaA8Yyl-1.
