So... no rocket science here, what's your favorite movie and why?

Mine is "The Shawshank Redemption" great story, good acting and Morgan Freeman's voice. All you really need for a good movie!

    Schindler's List

Because it's the greatest film ever made, with top notch acting, storytelling, direction and cinematography, and because watching it will always put my tiny problems into proper perspective.

The Empire Strikes Back. Takes the most impactful sci-fi film ever and then shows you that you can take that subject matter seriously, provides amazing dialogue, and oh, yeah…lightsabers and Yoda.

That was a contender for being my top movie too. The scene with the young girl in the red coat was a really well done and chilling scene IMO.
  5. This is perfect. Bass players talking movies.

I don't necessarily have ONE favorite movie. It's too hard for me to pick.

But there is one movie that changed my life forever.
I first saw this movie when I was in the 8th grade. My first thought was "amazing." My second thought was "I wish I made this movie....I should make movies....No, I'm GOING to make movies."
  6. Back To The Future.
  7. Blazing Saddles. It's the only time that I came out of the theater with a sore jaw from laughing so hard, and I soiled my undies a little as well! :D

Off the top of my head... American Psycho.

Of course, thats only one of many. I thought to myself, of all the movies I own or have seen, which one could I watch on an almosy daily basis. American Psycho was the first to come up, but there are plenty of others.
  10. First thought: Dr. Strangelove

Don't necessarily have a favorite per say, but a long damn list of them. In no order either:

    Pulp Fiction
    City of God
    Raising Arizona
    The Departed
    Dr. Strangelove
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
    Kelly's Hero's
    Reservoir Dogs
    Kill Bill 1&2
    Inglorious Basterds
    Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Evil Dead
    Fight Club
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
    The Big Lebowski

A few more I can't think of right away...

I've watched this one every thanksgiving for five years now. It just feels so good with turkey in the tummy.
