When did Fender go to the "Modern C" neck?

At what point did Fender transition to the "Modern C" neck that seems to be on all their standard products now?

It seems to me that the earliest American Standard P basses still had the old baseball bat neck, but that seems to have changed sometime in the late 1990s. Not sure whether it was a sharp transition or whether the necks gradually got shallower. Of course there were the famous flat, wide necks in the early 60s and 80s...

Does anyone know when the Modern C came in? Or I guess more generally, what years are associated with which Fender neck shapes?
