When does the song start?

When the bass starts...

We had a small party show on Saturday night and while the first band was playing, I was was sitting in the audience having a snack and a drink, and listened to a couple chat in front of me. She was making the point that "songs don't really start until the bass starts" and he was jokingly arguing with her. A couple more songs in, and he says "you're right, the bass is the only thing that matters".

Might have been the tequila, but I sure felt warm and fuzzy...
