I call Becca. Talking to Becca seems to brighten up my day more than anything else. Becca is my girlfriend if you couldn't guess that.

Sleep is also a good alternative. When I sleep, I don't think about all if lifes problems.

Or I play bass or tuba. Tuba more when sad. It takes so much concentration and involves so much of my mind and body, I can't think about being sad.

Doing nothing and just sitting there is sadness isn't dealing with it IMO. Dealing with it would be talking to someone who can help, or doing something to clear your mind, like all of the things above.

Many times, solutions to problems and such can be found when you aren't even thinking about it at all.

For instance, last night, I was really upset over a problem with some friends. I stopped thinking about it and practiced tuba. When I was done, the sadness never came back, and I was able to see all sides of the issue, and I was able to get over it becasue I understood it.

Kinda confusing, but I think you get my point.

    really :)

more like in neutral mode all the time or finding fun stuff to do but I rarely find myself depressed over something

i'm in the same boat as dave...

i can get really happy about stuff (for a little while)

but i'm pretty much always in a neutral, apathetic state of mind (in a good way) :)
