When it comes to PUPs I am useless

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by MrDuncan, May 2, 2005.

  1. I'm asking this question cause when it comes to pick ups and electronics I'm as dumb as the day is long. I recently bought a used Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass and the precision pick up has been lowered beneath the "e" string but left at a high position below the "a" string. It has also been slightly changed beneath the "d" and "g" strings as well. I'm just wonderring what the purpose for this is and if I should leave it the way it is.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give on this topic.

Sometimes its done to help string-to-string balance/volume. If its sounds balanced to you, leave it.

I have no advice or anything productive to add, other than...

I hope your first name isn't Seymour.
