I am just curious as to when my bass was assembled. Is there a way that I can tell this from my serial number? Is there a standard way for all basses or do different brands have different ways of doing this?

The bass I'm curious about is my Fender Geddy Lee

You may get more responses in the basses forum....

That being said, you may want to check out some of the Fender forums.

try e-mailing Fender, asking them politely about information
your bass. Most instrument manufacturers have an archive
on each instrument, and customer services will, more often
than not, be most helpful to any inquieries (how does it spell? :meh: ).
Just let them know the serial number, and they should
be able to find what you want to know. :)
