After many years of thought on this, I finally bought that Bongo that I always wanted. Agonized over the purchase for years and my wife finally encouraged me to buy it. A wonderful wife who encourages me to get what I want AND a new bass on it's way. Does life get any better?

Got this one from Gain Stage Music (http://www.gainstagemusic.com/). Never bought from them before but they had the one I wanted in stock and they were great to work with!

Nice bass. Definitely NEVER hesitate when she says "go ahead" I ALWAYS buy when she says YES, 'cause if I don't want it later, I have it to trade and she might not be in the charitable mood when I want that next thing - she's the boss when it comes to money 'cause if it were up to me we'd a house worth of cool gear and no house to put it in
All the other homes guys would be jealous of my rig. :roflmao:
    P.S. LOVE that colour!

Maybe it's just me but I get nervous when my wife encourages me to spend money on bass gear, I get the feeling she feels authorized to spent the same amount of money in something for her! ...good thing I don't buy expensive stuff!

    Nice bass! Congrats!

  8. Or its a trap, and when you could have used that money 6 months down the road, its all your fault for listening to the woman!

My wife has been telling me for a while to just get what I know I'll like - even if it cost more - and quite buying and selling and losing money looking for something I hope I'll like as much for less money.

    Here's my fretted bass:

And here is the rough cut of a fretless Roscoe 5 being built to pair up with it:

She tells me to buy Roscoe basses, and she's a keeper for all kinds of other reasons that I can't detail here. ;)

In all fairness, after playing for 30 years I've never bought myself a new bass. The few that I own were given to me many years ago with the exception of a Kramer Duke that I bought on a whim a few years ago. I guess it's about time. :)

Yeah, they have nice wood at Roscoe. The fretted is Koa, the fretless will be quilt maple.

I have one of those wives also. She is constantly telling me not to cheap myself out. Get a good one "you deserve good equipment".

    Wonderful...

My wife gets tattoos. Those things (good ones anyway) aren't cheap. Not quite what my Roscoe's cost, but pretty close.
