May I suggest that you check your local Yellow Pages of the phone book, check music instrument store bulletin boards, and check local weekly tabloid entertainment "rags" that have news about movies, and local concerts. They often have classified ads of use to musicians. Recording studios face much competition these days, so the ads are usually plentiful. Better shop around for prices. There can be huge variations between studios in price and in quality of equipment, services and the actual recording environment.

If you know any local bands that have recorded (and you liked the quality of the recording) ask them where they recorded. Sometimes the record will even say where it was recorded. Good luck in your project. Jason Oldsted
