My bass makes a really annoying "hummm", which only dissapear When I turn down the tone control.
Its a two pickups bass, one is a Jazz and the other a Pressition. Two volume controls, one tone.

Do I need to replace the pots? What about rewiring?

    I use something different.
I cut small pieces of aluminium warp paper and stick them with some glue, covering as much as posible.
A fast, easy, cheap and effective solution.

    Thx.
    Bye Bye.

The copper tape is a long term more professional way of doing it, there are a million other ways of doing it, but that and copper paint are 2 of the best ways of doing it.

Yeah. I second the copper paper. I just did it to my mim jazz bass and it sounds great.
