Hello all, I am looking for a Japanese Fender Precision (something between 1951 and 1954 reissue). My search around here in Germany is quite unsuccessful, so I am thinking about buying an used instrument via internet somewhere in the US. Does anybody know a good reliable dealer or shop for used instruments, who ship to Germany? Or is here anybody who would sell his 51 Prec MIJ (all sorts)? Thank you Julius
Sting signature bass from www.ishibashi-music.com Just bought an aerodyne from them, rather low prices (even with 18% and 3,2% taxes added in EU ), good service, though sometimes you have to wait to get an answer to your email, the only guy who speaks english seems to work 2 and 2 as it seems. Bass was well packaged, game in 3 days with EMS.
duh, you wanted a used one. -bangs his head against the wall- ok I ve been up all night, need more coffee! though I might not be completely off target here, ishibashi also sells used instruments
I'm pretty sure the person at Ishibashi that speaks English/deals with international customers is a woman... There should be one called OPB51, but it's probably around 800 USD new (980 USD retail).
Ishibashi's used instrument's section is under "U-box". There's a gray bar to select the category that you want. To select their used basses, click on the second tab after "all" in the gray bar at the top of the window. Have fun!!
The Sting Signature Model model # is OPB54-145SG. The OPB stands for "old Precision Bass", 54 is for 1954, 145 is for the list price of 145,000 yen (about 1,450 US dollars!), and the SG? Probably Sting Gordon? Isn't his last name really Gordon? Because the Marcus Miller is "MM", the Richie Blackmore is "RB", and who can forget Yngwie Malmsteen ("YM")?!! Oh, and by the way, good luck Julius! *** I was wrong, Sting's real name is Gordon Sumner, so I'm not sure what the "G" is for in the SG...
Hey Julius. Try buffalobrosguitars.com and basspalace.com. Both have used MIJ '50s Precision reissues listed on their Websites.
You'll probably get the Sting for less local, for some reason the Japanese sig model prices are really jacked up there I think.
