This is driving me nuts. Short version: I need a source for a premade 24 fret neck < $200. Longer version: I got a nice body that I planned on making a cheapo frankenbass out of, and it turned out that due to the shape a standard fender-style neck won't fit. Scale's wrong. So I need a 24 fret neck. No big deal, right? WRONG! Only one I can find anywhere is the allparts danelectro replacement for $125. And frankly it's butt uglay. I'd be better of buying a cheap bass with an ok neck for a few bucks more and stripping the bridge/tuners off it as well. Can someone point me in the direction of a supplier who makes a real 24 fret neck? Warmoth won't work, their 24's are fretboard extensions and the whole point is that I need the heel to be all the way at the 24th fret. I'm on the verge of buying something like this ripping the neck off it, and jamming it into this body. (As mentioned, I'm on a budget as this is a test project for something. Under $200, the lower the better.) Thanks for any help guys.
