I have a gig at graduation on friday and we're playing the old james brown classic "Sex machine" and i have a solo in it and i have decided to use a Mini Q-tron on it. But it has these nasty highs so i have also borrowed a compressor, EBS multcomp. To take away those nasty highs, should i put the compressor before or after the mini Q-tron? Any recommendation on what compressor setting to use (Tube, normal or MB)?

Should the gain on the EBS match my amp output signal?

you generally want the compressor to tame large variations in sound, so it should go at the end in this case. Sometimes you might put it first to bring the input level up to a point suitable for driving an octaver etc, but in this case I think you want it last.
I always use the MB setting, I think this will probably work best for you in this case also since it's the low end that's going to have the most variation.
