Where's the Frankenberry?

it's pretty much impossible to find this cereal in stores these days. I live in minneapolis which is home of General Mills and i have yet to find it in the grocery stores here.

i played a gig in south dakota and i just happened to walk into a hyvee and they had 4 boxes which i snagged and now i have eaten all of it.

I know you can get 12 boxes on amazon.com but does anyone know which stores should carry it?

Didn't think that stuff was still around.

I was suprised to find this quote in the history section.
Target and Wal-Mart are among the stores that have been known to carry these more scarce cereals during October in time for Halloween. They can be found year-round in the Midwest at Wal-Mart Supercenters and on Amazon.com, and in the Southeast in many stores. In addition, they have been spotted year-round in some Wal-Mart Supercenters in the East.

I say skip the Frankenberry altogether and just pour some sugar and milk in a bowl and save yourself a few bucks. :D

Health concerns

Franken Berry was very popular when first introduced, even though the initial batches of the cereal used a dye that didn't break down in the body, causing many children's feces to be bright pink, a symptom sometimes referred to as "Frankenberry Stool."[4]

I wonder if that was what Stephen King was making referring to in Cujo with the side story of the ad execs.

Frankenberry and Booberry are pretty common at the Wal-Marts around here. Frankenberry doesn't taste nearly as good as it did years ago.

Correct term for 'candy' :p

^^ This :)

In Australia it's almost impossible to find cereal that's as unhealthy as the stuff you can purchase in the US. The worst thing we have is Fruit Loops. And you'll never hear "part of this complete breakfast" on a breakfast ceral commercial here because the cereals are generally not so unhealthy as to require a conditional statement or disclaimer like that.
