  1. Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows a valid e-mail address for WJ?
I tried wayne@waynejonesamplification and it comes back as undeliverable

  2. Try this:

    Hi Paz,

I see you're using a QSC PLX 2402 with your WJ cabs. I'm currently looking for a new poweramp to add to my 2 WJ cabs and Demeter HBP-1 preamp. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the PLX 2402. As you know they're pretty expensive here in Australia, but I've read quite a few threads here where the guys swear by them.

Look forward to hearing from you.
    :)

  6. Hi Classic5,

I've had the 2402 for approx 3 years now. Done heaps of gigs
    with it. 2 things that really impress me are;

    1. It's weight - 9.7kgs and
    2. its' awesome power.

The best poweramp I've ever owned and I have owned
quite a few over the years.

    I use bridge-mono mode ( 1500W into 8ohms ) with 1 cab
    for rehersals and 2 cabs ( 2400W into 4ohms ) for gigs.

    I absolutely luv it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks PAZ.

That's all the convincing I need. You've got pretty close to the set up that I'm using and it sounds like its been serving you well. One PLX 2402 coming soon.

    Cheers :D

  9. Nope, he designed and built 2x10's in Australia for a few years. IIRC, they retailed in the states for about $1250. Way too expensive and they came out about the same time as Bergies, Aggies, EAs, and Epifanis, so the competition was pretty fierce.

Hmmmm... any gimmick? I'm not really looking to spend that much on a 2x10", but I'd be curious if it had some sort of special feature that other cab manufacturers don't.

  11. No Gimmick just really expensive to ship from Australia. They got super reviews though, something about a special crossover I think.

You could always email him and ask about it.

heard they handle a low B like nobodies bidness, and yet was one LOUD mofo of a single 2x10 cab. the specs were pretty spectacular, and everyone who's owned them will profess to 'em.

one friend who tours with 4 (!!!!!!) WJ's, says its like crossing an accugroove with an acme.

  14. Hi guys ,

    The WJ's have 2 gimmicks that most 2x10 cabs don't;

    1. A crossover for mids in the cab and a mid control on the
    back and,

    2. 780W RMS, 1560W peak, power handling capacity.

I have done gigs with 1 cab and people could not believe
their ears at how much volume and air pressure 1 small cab
can deliver. Mind you a QSC pushing 1500W, a BBE and a
DBX compressor do help to achieve the desired end result.

    lol!!! :D

and yea, 780 watts in a 2x10 is NOTHING to shake a stick at. especially if it looks like Go-zilla. :p

Hi All. I just stumbled upon a web link regarding Wayne Jones and his bass cabs - it might answer a few questions you may have. Give's a bit of insight into Wayne and the state of the music scene here in Melbourne. It's pretty tough going, but as most of you know, once the bass is in your blood it's pretty hard to get rid of.

I have two of his cabs, paid for them myself, and can confirm that they are awsome and well worth the cost.

If your interested in the article see:

    Best regards :D
