Here's mine.....I love the beach
Here’s one of mine. The Cove Palisades State Park in central Oregon.
And Jackalope Lounge in Eugene.
That is awesome!
I’m attracted to any place with a large body of water. Or just liquids in general. Lol.
Here's another pic of my Happy Place......I'll be there tomorrow morning
I can't describe the place of my deepest joy w/o breaking the rules.
Everyone has at least one PG Happy Place!
France.....All of it....
@Helix can you follow @OldDog52 and label your happy places please?
Looks cool, but I have no idea where that is.
At the marina on my boat and in Muskoka.
When I was in Chiang Mai I used to like going to restaurants in the mountains:
That’s what we’re talking about!
View from the porch of Cabin #2 at Cove Palisades:
A non-orange September sunset over Lake Billy Chinook:
For sure....i normally do that, my bad
It is in San Diego...1st pic is @ South Missiion Beach...the 2nd is on top of Mt. Soledad overlooking La Jolla, which neighbors Mission and Pacific Beach
We used to go drinking on Mission Beach, can't remember the street , but it's like endless bars.
Here is a pic on top of Mt Soledad looking south towards Mission and Pacific Beach and the other is the war memorial on top of the Mt
No pic, just a memory.
Sloughing a trail, backpacking in the eastern Sierras, hot afternoon moving through granite plains scraped clean by glacier ice. Probably 9-10k altitude and the sun is close enough to reach out and touch.
We came upon a spring fed pool in a crack in the granite. It was large enough so all four of us could get out of the sun, fill our bottles and relax against the cool rock. Never been back, not on USGS quad sheet.
I recall this spot when they put the blood pressure cuff on me
Door locked, lights off, headphones on, incense burning.
Leave me alone, world.
@OldDog52 thanks for the tip. Making my reservation at Cove Palisades tomorrow for the summer.
If you want relative tranquility, I recommend going after Labor Day if possible. The weather is generally cooler but still very nice and most of the visitors are gone. But honestly you can’t go wrong any time. The deluxe cabins have all the comforts of home including heat & A/C. No pets, no smoking. Cabin #2 has ideal shade for sitting outside in warm weather. Outdoor BBQ with propane provided. If you have a boat you can rent a mooring very close to the cabins at the marina.
Madras is about 30 mins drive. Bend is about an hour (Deschutes Brewery!!!). Smith Rock nearby. Kha-nee-ta Warm Springs, Erickson aviation museum. Lots to see. Drive to Prineville and see if you can find the huge Apple and Facebook data centers.
Seriously, I love it there when the weather is at least warmish. That whole high desert farm ranch vibe appeals to me even if I’m a city boy.
