This is likely going to be a matter of personal opinion, but I want to get some Barts for my P-bass Lyte (no laughing, please). It's got a PJ config and I'm wondering if I should get the brighter 8SU pups or the the 8S deep tone for the neck. The bridge pup they sell as a single is a deep tone (9J-L1), and I'm concerned I'll lose a little something if I go all deep tone. Please advise.

I've got the standard 8S with the 9J running through a bart TCT 3 band config. No problems with being too dark and you can play them to pretty much any style. Their standard soaps (C's) on the other hand are on the dark side for my taste and I'd recommend brighter versions.

    That's my take.
