This is more for fun, not a serious discussion.

I know, I know....what a tough problem, right? Like which dress to wear?

I'll audition on Sunday for a Rhythm and Blues 11-piece band. Kind of like an edgy Bonnie Raitt'ish stuff with some horns tossed in.

I'll take my LMII and 210 cab for sure, but I am wondering about which bass(es) to bring.

Is the Jaguar too flashy? I'll have my all black PB-551 decked out with some Black Beauties by then as well. Mustn't forget about the Geddy. Hmmm....or maybe the Hoppus?

I am leaning to the new one, the PB-551. Too subtle? Or do I go sporty what that red Jag?

Again, just for fun, if you have any thoughts.

    :)

  3. I always bring a P.. fretless 5.. and 6er.. and custom rig.

When they're done dorking over my gear, I go back to a $200 bass and DI

The Geddy would be the sensible option. Hard to object to a Jazz Bass.

I'm not sensible, therefore I would take a Rickenbacker. Or in your case, I suppose the Jaguar.

Go buy the ugliest, most beat up P.O.S. P-bass that you can find, upgrade the electronics, get a good setup and fretwork done to it, then go audition dressed as a homeless man.

If you have the chops and can fill the role, they'd be foolish to pass you up based on image.

I'd take the one you play most and feel most comfortable with

Think of the bass as an accessory to whatever dress you decide on...
