    Hi All,

I have an audition with a pro metal band and I can choose.
One is my MIA Jazz with DR lo-riders (roundwound 45-105).
The other '74 P-bass with Ernie Ball flatwounds 45-105.
Which one would you pick and why.
    Thanks for replies,

    Yvette

I would pick the MIA Jazz with DR lo-riders for brighter sound.
Plus I like the tone of a good jazz alittle better than a P-Bass.

    rawk on man! :D

Seriously, either bass would be fine, but given you have flats on the P-Bass, take the J - its will be much harder to cut through with flats on. However, if you are more confortable on the P, i'd chance the strings and take the P.

If the P had the same strings as the J Id say the P but since the rounds are on the J, take that.

Of course, it all depends on what kind of metal you are talking about. Any specific bands that might give us a better idea of what style?

  5. What pro metal band!!!
    Thanks
