Hey, I'm selling a 5 string ESP bass which I totally upgraded. It's on this site in the "For Sale" forum. It's in excellent condition, sounds great and it could be in your price range.

    Take a look:

  3. If I was looking for a new 5er under $400 I would probably get a dean edge Q.

  4. look into the BB Series Yamaha. Either the Current Model, the BB605 or the the BBG5S, which you can still find on ebay for $200 to $300. I have one and really like it. It would take having a dingwall in my lap for me to want to replace it. Yamaha bass link

  5. What about a MIM Fender Jazz?
