Quick question from a old school friend of mine : He wants to have some thick string gauges on his Spector Rebop 5. He's now using Pyramid SS strings, gauge 0.45-.140. He doesn't really like the sound of it and wants to try something else.. Anybody of you knows who else makes some thick strings like the one he uses?

Custom sets are the way to go for a situation like that.

Go to Bass Strings Online and you can build whatever sets you want:
    http://www.bassstringsonline.com/Build-your-own-string-set_c_163.html

D'Addario, Rotosound, and Dean Markley go up to .140 or .145 and LaBella goes to .150.
He also has other brands as singles that are not listed on the site yet.

Plus if you sign up on his site as a VIP user (send him your TB username when you register) you'll get VIP pricing since you're a TalkBass member :)
