I just shoot me a used Fender Japan JB 5 for a good price and I'm thinking about getting a new colour for it if I'll like the Bass (still don't have it)

First are some users of a CIJ 5 string around ???

the actual colour is sunburst , white pickguard, rosewood board - I'm thinking about :

Candy Apple Red or Surf Green

    - both with matching headstock

Surf green. I have been thinking about a Warmoth P in surf green, maple board, but not sure of the pickguard.

  4. surf green with tort.

i'm biased though, i have a sonic blue with tort.;)

  5. CAR with white 'guard.

  6. Nah, white pearl or black gloss.

Hmm, this is actually a tough choice. I can't decide.:hyper:

  7. So here's what you do: Take a nice gloss black body- strip all parts, wipe it down w/lacquer thinner/naptha/MEK, DON'T sand or even lightly scuff it, then hit it w/rattle-can car paint- a nice mint, metalflake green- but do it on a very damp & dewey morning, in a far-colder-than-ideal/suggested temperature. Allow to dry fully. Now- before re-assembling the bass, set the body in the back of a pickup truck, ideally w/a smattering of loose sand, gravel & small metal items(nails, screws & worn-out bicycle parts). Now drive a good 20 miles on a bumpy, dirt road. After that, set it out in the sun for 2 weeks for a little UV love. My recipe for MOJO. Haven't done it myself yet but will before I die.

    Edit: Or Surf Green.

I have thought about that also...but I'm not a big fan of Heavy Relic :)

even my two Custom Shop Fenders are only Closet Classic ;)
