I have a Fender Precision bass and I want to know if I should use DR stainless lo riders or DR nickel lo riders? Ive narrowed it down to lo riders though, so dont go recommending sunbeams or fatbeams or whatever. I am guessing nickel lo riders because Ive heard that stainless ones sound harsh on a p bass. I play pick by the way.

What are you after in a sound?
I'm a DR endorser so I have been able to try their different "flavors"
With a pick on a pbass for rock I would use stainless, BUT what kinda pick, speakers and amp also figure.

I would also use Dunlop tortex .71 or a .88, if you use delrin(fender nylon) or dunlop seires 500 then I would consider the nickel.

  5. Go with the nick's IMHO.

Old Fenders and DR's YEAH BABY !!!

I use Dunlop Tortex yellows and greens. I think they are .73mm and .88mm

I am after a very punchy, agressive sound with a lot of high mids. I guess stainless would be good, but I heard they were too harsh. And I use the 1/4 Pound P Bass pickups.
