Which Euphonic 1x10 box sounds best for upright
bass? The vl series or the new boxes. I'll use
it for both basses, but mainly upright.

    BEE STING,

I own a CXL 112, and I love it. Most EA owners who have tried both report that the CXL series is way more efficient than the VL series. You should check in with (ALL HAIL) Bob Gollihur on this.

I know the cxl series is more efficient, but
I've been told the older 1x10 boxes don't
sound the same as the newer ones. Do the
cxl 10's have a better sound for upright?

I know that the cxl series is more efficient,
but does the cxl 1x10 sound better for the
upright than the vl? Its hard to hear them side by side. I haven't seen the new ones yet. Also, the
cxl 1x12 is almost as heavy as my swr 2x10 jr.
Has it got as much low end and volume. If so,
I'd sell my jr. in a heart beat.
ps. thanks for the cute name change.

My CXL 112 kicks my Eden 210T's butt. It sounds clearer, deeper and tighter. I no longer need to use the 210. Regarding the CXL vs the VL, I like the sound of both cabs. I have found that the newer cabs have a bit more presence in the midrange. Not a bump like the Eden stuff but the mids are just more audible. I like both models of cabs. The newer ones don't make my amp work as hard though. The CXL 112 isn't really that heavy. It is pretty easy to carry, although I use a hand cart. If you want to have one cab for everything, go with the cxl112. Try it out if you can, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
