Which full range general purpose amp?

    I'd like one amp that would do all this:
    1. Solo 5-string bass practice (of course)
    2. MP3 input to support bass practice
    3. Small solo gig acousitc guitar amp
    4. Small solo gig vocal amp
    5. small box, light weight
    6. Low cost

    What are my options? Is the Carvin AG100D the only game in town? What about a power PA speaker with a small built-in mixer?

    Most of the time it will serve as my solo bass practice amp.

    Walk over to the PA section and try out a powered cabinet
    They have little mixers for multiple inputs
    Can easily handle bass

    Thanks seamonkey. I am considering a small powered PA speaker.

    Anyone else with experience in this area? What are the rest of you bassists / guitarists using?

    Bose - Was not on my radar.

    Unfortunately at a starting price of $1000, it won't be. I'm more of a $300 kinda guy :-(

    By "small", I'm thinking 1x10 or 1x12 size box, by the way.
