  3. as far as i know there is no such thing as a TRB1006JP or a
    TRB1006PII.
i think you mean the TRB6PII and the TRBJPII. when you say better could you be a bit more specific... they are both great basses but quite different:
    Neck Through - Maple
    Scale Length 889mm (35”)
    Fingerboard - Ebony
    Frets 24
    Radius 1000mm (40”)
Body - Ash with choice of Maple, Ovangkol or Bubinga.
    Tuners - Gotoh Die-Cast
    Bridge - Yamaha Original BPZ-7
Pickups - Yamaha Double Coil x 2. Piezo Pick-ups on bridge.

    Bolt-On - Maple
    Scale Length 889mm (35”)
    Fingerboard - Ebony
    Frets - 26
    Radius 1000mm (40”)
Body - Figured Maple / Ash / Alder / Ash
    Tuners - Gotoh Die-Cast
Bridge - Yamaha Original Solid Brass
Pickups - Yamaha Side by Side Double Coil x 2

my only advice would be to try both basses and see which suits you best. in my opion i think the trbpii would be better just because its more versatile.
  4. TRB6PII is an excellent bass!!! Yamaha makes some quality basses at that. Very versatile bass and articulate. I fell in love with its looks after seeing Lige Curry play is with parliament last summer.

Haven't played both but one may fit your needs better; there's not necessarily a better and I unfortuatnely have not played both to offer a good comparison. *shrug*
