A friend isn't willing to commit financially to gear but he wants to buy a few joyo pedals for experimenting. He told me he likes the tone I get with my demon king and rat tails and also really likes the tone of overdriven orange amps. So what Joyo overdrive would fit this profile? Decent low mid and mid range presence, enough gain to palm mute well on a guitar, harmonically rich. Suggestions? I was thinking about having him try a British sound or one of those crunch box clones.

You should try posting this in the Joyo thread.

That bring said the demon king is based on the OCD fulltone pedal and so is the Joyo ultimate drive.

What he said. Two excellent pedals.

If you don't like one of them...just sell it...for about 5 dollars less than what you paid for it.
  6. Wait for the Joyo Orange Juice - looks like it could be an Orange amp sim like the Tech21 Oxford!

The Orange Juice will be one of those neat tiny pedals with the cover that hides the knobs and LEDs.

If they are bass friendly, those pedals will get a lot of notice here.
