Which Line 6 Pods work well with basses

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by NickInMesa, Apr 24, 2009.

  1. Besides the models identified as "Bass", which Line 6 pods would work well?

My local GC has a Line 6 Pro 2.0 for $199 (used). I can see it on eBay for even less than that.

Would this model work well with a bass?

Otherwise, what should I look for in that price range?

Are there any models with a beat box feature? My Korg Pandora PX4D has one, which is cool for practicing.

    Thanks!

Generally, the "Bass" ones. Guitar ones will not have many models in them that you'll be pleased with.

The others are not intended for bass, other than the very high end X2 Live's, etc. No Pod's have any kind of drum machines in them. Sorry.

I have a PODxt and I've gotten some decent bass patches using the tube pre-amp.

Officially speaking, only a few are designed for bass:

    Bass POD
    Bass POD XT
    Bass POD XT Live
    Bass Floor POD

...and all versions of the POD X3, which carry over the bass amp, cab, and effect modeling from the Bass POD series. That's why you don't see a "new" version of the Bass POD XT on store shelves.
