Although I have a UniBass, I'm looking to get an octaver. A proper dedicated, good tracking one. I've only tried the EBS OctaBass, but would like to see what you guys opinion's are.

    I've heard good things about:
    EBS OctaBass
    MXR Octave
    Boss OC-3
The octave function on the Digitech BSW...

Feel free to suggest anything I haven't listed.

    Thanks,
    James.

Edit: Oh yeah and the EH POG, But that's kinda expensive right? :p

BSW tracks great. The Behringer octaver is awesome!

The Whammy is the most flexible and the most fun.

Hmm Yeah forgot about the Whammy. They're quite expensive though.

And my guitarist would kill me for getting one :p He's only just got one and thinks it's a step forward because he had only a Marshall Jackhammer, and then I had about 10 pedals....So if I got one could you imagine the look on his face! Lol.

Tell him you need all those pedals to fill in the "hole" when he launches into his solos.

    Yeah, that's what they're for!

Digitech BSW. Just got one, octaver function works great, knocks spots off the Ultrabass in my V-Amp Pro. Miles better tracking.

Yeah the BSW is seeming like the best option as it's pretty cheap, and isn't just an octaver.

I said I wanted a dedicated octaver, but if it tracks as well as one and does other things for a decent price, then why not eh?

Oh that's what it is! I saw it on your board but kept thinking it was a chorus or flanger. How is it?

EBS OctaBass kills the Digitech BSW in my opinion.

The octoplus is a great pedal, very old school in tone but its very cool. it can manage double stops but not chords.

Up to you but can be had for about 35 quid on ebay if that.

In my experience, the BSW tracks better the EBS. Don't get me wrong, the EBS is perfectly good and has more versatility. But that isn't worth the extra money to me.

I'm really surprised that noone has mentioned the Boss OC-2. I've had one for years and I can't imagine using a different pedal. I've tried others and have always come back to the OC-2. It's the pedal that most bass players with "that octave sound" always seem to have.

I used to own an early EBS OctaBass which eventually got stolen, but I remember that it gave me quite a bit of tracking trouble. I got an DigiTech BSW a while ago and while I don't really have use for an octaver right now, its octaver function feels and sounds a lot better to me than the EBS ever did. Just my 2 cents.
