    Hi all,

I'm just curious about what people in this forum would
consider what is the best sound out of the basses I have access to.

I recorded a 10 second clip of 7 different basses, all playing
more or less the same dorky bass line. Some of the basses got
to have more than one clip, as they had different sounds due to
multiple pickups, or lots of EQ settings. There are 10 clips in all.
I recorded everything through a Bass Pod with the "Brit Class A"
    setting.

Here is a link to the mp3s of the clips (it also includes a poll, so
you can vote for which clip you think sounds best):

I don't want to give away what these basses are right now, because I'm
thinking that might influence the outcome. If enough people vote or
are interested, I can post again in a week and let you know what
basses they clips are of, and how many votes each received.

    thanks,

    Dave

I'm getting a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error for all of the links. That could be a firewall issue here, but I doubt it.

  12. I'm going with Brendan on this one.

Most of them sounded like there was minimal EQ setting changes.

I liked 9 because it was dark and kind of thumpy.

The bassline reminded me of the movie Jaws.

When are you going to tell us?

    7 through 9 sound a little... piezo-y, or something.
