  1. I'm looking at picking up a Sterling-style 5-string, and am torn between various finishes. So which of these do you think looks the coolest?

I've got a soft spot for burst finishes, but for solid colors, black w/ a black pearloid pg is right up there as far as sex appeal goes, so those were my 2 votes.

I like the natural best with that nice flammed top anyhow. If it doesnt have a nice top though, the burst would be my vote.

Of the "paint" finishes, I love a good metallic blue, but that natural with the tortoise shell pickguard just stands out.

Judging by the pictures, my least favorites are the natural and black.

Honeyburst, with transred a second - covering up grain on a 'Ray with a solid finish is simply wrong. ;)

Sunburst is the kind I have and like most. But I like the black one's pickguard. Simular to the black Modulus

    1. Natural :hyper:
    2. Silver, but I'd like it more with a black pickguard. :smug:
  12. I Like both the metalic blue and the metalic silver. I was actualy looking at MM sterling that was a dark metalic blue. Too bad it was to pricey :crying:
  13. Eh, the first four are really sexy.

    That help? :)

And i believe that just a sunburst or tobacco burst, not a honeyburst.

Natural seems to be in the lead.

Trans Red - But with maple neck! ...and darker pickguard.
  19. Mabye, if you want something flashy, a silver flake finish would be sweet. Like the Modulus Flea uses. I Love that finish. but only if it fits your style. I dont think that a silver flake finish would be good if you play mostly ballads.
