Which one has higher output, Dimazio DP123 or DP149?

    According to Dimarzio's Web Site, the DP123 seems to have lower output than the DP149 (Ultra J). However, user reviews indicate the opposite. Can anyone comment on this issue?

    most user reviews i've seen don't compare the two directly. the 149 is louder.

    The reason why I thought the 123 was louder is most reviews talk about the 123's higher output compared with the original pickups. According to the numbers posted at DM's site, however, the DP123 seems no louder than typical SC J pickup.

    DP149.

    DP123 is actually lower than the Fender stocks. I owned both. The perception of "more power" is because DP123s are doble coil and the tone is fatter.
